Day 1: Friday, June 1 – Welcome Aboard! We’ll depart our pick up locations for a nice ride across the states to our first enroute hotel (Drury Inn) in Paducah, KY. Lunch and dinner en route. Check-in and time for rest and relaxation.
Day 2: Saturday, June 2 – Enjoy a nice Hot Quikstart Breakfast at our hotel before traveling onto our hotel in Stockbridge, GA. After checking in, we’re off for an Elegant Dinner (Pre-Paid) and Tour of Stately Oaks Plantation; afterwards, the stories of the citizens of Jonesboro that inspired Margaret Mitchell to write her Pulitzer Prize winning novel, “Gone with the Wind”.
Day 3: Sunday, June 3 – Enjoy a Deluxe Continental breakfast at hotel before departing for our historic Savannah hotel. Lunch en route. Then, we’ll check into our hotel, Courtyard Savannah Historic District. This hotel located right in the heart of Savannah’s Historic District, encompasses the elegant southern charm that the historic district has to offer. We’ll enjoy a free afternoon for shopping on River Street. Then Dinner (Pre-Paid) at Pirate’s House Restaurant. After, we’ll have fun going on a ghost tour of Savannah! America’s Most Haunted City!
Day 4: Monday, June 4 – We will have a Full Hot Buffet breakfast at our hotel before departing with our step-on Savannah guide for an exciting day in Savannah – Georgia’s first city!! First, we’ll go on a historic Guided Tour of Savannah! Then lunch on own and free time for shopping on River Street. After, we’re off and running for a Low Country Tour, which includes Tybee Island, Fort Pulaski, and a stop at Byrd Cookie Company! Then, back to the hotel to freshen up and relax prior to departing for dinner (Pre-Paid) at Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House.
Day 5: Tuesday, June 5 – Enjoy a Hot Buffet Breakfast at hotel. Then we will depart for Jekyll Island. After arriving in the historic district, we will take a tram tour of Jekyll Island historic district. At the turn of the century, tycoons, politicians, and socialites flocked to Jekyll Island to revel in their own luxury and America’s burgeoning wealth. The Jekyll Island Club was described in the February 1904 issue of Munsey’s Magazine as “the richest, the most exclusive, the most inaccessible club in the world.” Its impressive members included such luminaries as J.P. organ, William Rockefeller Vincent Astor, Joseph Pulitzer, William K Vanderbilt and other recognizable names, on the roster were Macy, Goodyear and Gould. Between 1888 and 1928 these wealthy northern families built their winter homes, or “cottages” as they were called, designed to house entire families with staff. Hardly cottages, they exemplified Victorian tastes in architecture. Two of these have been restored and are part of the Jekyll Island Club’s historic accommodations. After Jekyll Island, we depart for St. Simons Island Village where we will have Lunch on Own and free time shopping in St. Simons Pier Village. Then, we’ll tour St. Simons Island including a stop at Fort Federicka. We’ll have dinner (Pre-Paid) at Skipper’s before returning your hotel.
Day 6: Wednesday, June 6 – Enjoy our Hot Buffet Breakfast at the Hotel before departing for Chattanooga, TN. We will have Lunch enroute and then arrive at our hotel for evening, Holiday Inn Downtown Chattanooga. Freshen up and depart for dinner. Welcome to the pride of the South, the Southern Belle Riverboat!! Take a great cruise along the scenic Tennessee River while enjoying a delicious dinner! (Pre-Paid)
Day 7: Thursday, June 7 – We will have full breakfast at our hotel before taking a Tour of Chattanooga. This tour will include Incline and Battles for Chattanooga electronic map. Lunch will be on our own. Then we will take a ride on one of the steepest passenger railways in the world – Lookout Mountain’s Incline Railway. Located on Lookout Mountain at the entrance to historic Pont Park, The Battles for Chattanooga Electric Map & Museum is the perfect starting point for our tour of the area’s Civil War battle sites. Our spectacular three-dimensional electronic battle map presentation of Chattanooga’s Civil War history features 5,000 miniature soldiers, 650 lights, sound effects and exceptional details of the major battles which were fought here in November of 1863 Hear and see about Chattanooga’s Battle Above the Clouds and sherman’s assault on Missionary ridge before his historic March to the Sea. Depart for Paducah with Dinner on own. Then check into our hotel, Drury Inn Paducah.
Day 8: Friday, June 8 – Enjoy our Hot Breakfast together prior to departing for home with many pictures, memories and new great friends! Welcome home!
