Day 1: Wednesday, August 22 – Welcome Aboard! We’ll depart our pick up locations for a nice enjoyable ride to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. We’ll have Lunch en route prior to stopping for a visit and tour of the National Historic Cheesemaking Museum in the heart of cheese country; known as “Gateway to Cheese Country” and the “Cheese Capital of the U.S.A.”. We will have a Guided Tour of the cheese-making museum, watch a video presentation, “Art of Cheesemaking”, Tour the Imobersteg Farmstead Cheese Factory, and have opportunity to browse and shop the “Milk House Gift Shop”. After, we’ll continue to our hotel for a 2-night stay. Relax and freshen up prior to leaving for dinner (Pre-Paid). Luggage will be delivered to your rooms. After dinner, return to hotel where you can relax for the evening to be ready for our second day of adventure! Enjoy the indoor pool or hot tub or get a good nights rest.
Day 2: Thursday, August 23 – Good Morning! Please enjoy a nice hot breakfast prior to leaving for a very fun-filled packed day! Our first stop is to the Apple Barn Orchard & Winery. We’ll experience fresh fruit, fresh air and a fresh perspective of what a real family farm is like. Taste and see what they have growing and leave with a memory we won’t soon forget. The Apple Barn Winery specializes in fruit wines made from fresh, non-grape fruits and berries. The Country Store and Bakery is the perfect place, we may smell the bakery before we see it when we walk in. Try and resist the delicious fresh baked goods you eye in the display case. Try a fresh apple cider doughnut, buy a caramel apple, strawberry donut, strawberry pies, strawberry shortcake or pumpkin chocolate chip cookie to satisfy that craving. Take home an apple pie to bake yourself, infuse your home with the smell of homemade bounty. Anything apple, you’ll probably find it here. Then we’ll drive just down the road to “Stop and Smell the Roses” by local owner, Doug Amon. Doug has been nurturing his rose garden since he was 70 years old. Through a little trial and error, he now has 400 rose bushes and a lot of curious visitors. There are 14 raised beds among the trellises, along with a pond (with a waterfall and bridge) and a gazebo. Doug can almost always be seen outside pruning and nurturing the bushes. After, we go to the Lake Geneva Visitor Center and everyone can enjoy time downtown for Lunch (on own) and free time to browse. Go light on lunch as our next stop is sure to please! We’re off for an Ice Cream Social Cruise. Enjoy a narrated tour aboard the Grand Belle of Geneva and be served a delicious Breyer’s ice cream sundae prepared just the way you like it. But wait, we’re not done yet! Now we will venture off to the Dancing Horses Theatre where our first activity is a Country Wagon Ride. Ride through their green pastures to see their Arabian horses, around the pond to see the new babies and take pictures of their beautiful grounds. Then we’ll enjoy an Exotic Bird Show – Meet their amazing parrots! These tropical treasures can roller skate, play basketball and sing. Meet Echo, the talking parrot featured on the Jay Leno show and Animal Planet. Now it’s time to enjoy a full 2-entrée Dinner (Pre-Paid) at the Theatre prior to the show. Yummy!! Chicken & BBQ Ribs, Potatoes & Corn, Salad & Dinner Roll, Strawberry Shortcake and Beverage. My oh my! Hope we had a VERY light lunch! Wow, time for the show! Enjoy the Dancing Horses Spectacular Show: The Dancing Horses Theater presents an enchanting Vegas-style performance unparalleled anywhere else. From the moment the show opens until the finale, the audience of all ages sits spellbound, applauding each equine performer and trainer, exclaiming in wonder, chuckling at the humor, and even wiping the occasional tear when a moment of connection touches a heart string. The show concludes with the Dancing Waters, which features hundreds of water jets that are choreographed to music and presented in a brilliant kaleidoscope of changing lights. Indoor Arena, fully climate controlled for all seasons, and wheelchair accessible. Last, but not least, A Backstage Tour – A special treat of a Behind-The-Scenes” experience. Discover how they train their performing horses and have an opportunity to ask questions of their head trainer. Then we will be escorted to the rear of the theatre to see their horses up close and personal and learn more about each one. Now, we’ll return to our hotel.
Day 3: Friday, August 24 – Enjoy our hot breakfast together at the hotel before we depart for home. Arrive home with many pictures, memories and new great friends! Welcome home!
