The legacy of Lucille Ball has been proudly honored right here in Lucy’s hometown of Jamestown by the Lucille Ball Desi Arnaz Museum since 1996. For decades, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz played a vital role in television and on the big screen, and we’re fortunate to have the privilege of preserving their memory and the impact they’ve both had on the world through all of the fun costumes and memorabilia on display, awards they were both given, photographs of both their personal and TV lives, and much more! We’re constantly swapping out exhibits for new ones, so even if you’ve visited our museum before, it’s always a new experience like the first time you visited! Then we’ll journey onto our hotel in Jamestown, NY, Holiday Inn Express. We’ll enjoy lunch and dinner en route. (Meals on own)
Day 4: Sunday, Oct. 7 – Let’s have breakfast and then depart with our guide for Montpelier, VT. First, a visit to Morse Maple Farm, where we will learn how Vermont Maple Syrup is made and visit their country store. Then we’ll visit Montpelier, the smallest state capital in the country. After our visit to Montpelier, we’ll depart for an exquisite luncheon (Included) at the Trapp Family Lodge. Enjoy a hot & cold buffet and don’t miss the Austrian pastry cart! We will take time to visit the property, the lodge and the gift shop while we learn about the Sound of Music family. After, just when you think we’re done for the day, we’ll make a nice stop at Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream and Factory, one of the happiest places in Vermont for a tour and hmmmmm…tasting of ice cream. Little bit more of a drive where we’ll stop for dinner (on own) before getting to our Vermont hotel for evening.
Day 5: Monday, October 8 – After breakfast at hotel, we’ll depart for Woodstock Village. The quintessential New England town located on the banks of the Ottauquechee River and the Crossroad of Vermont Scenic Byway. After, we’ll visit Quechee Gorge, Vermont’s little Grand Canyon for a picture stop. Now, we’re off for a (Pre-Paid) “Turkey Train Dinner” at luncheon aboard the Lake Winnipesauke Railroad Train. Enjoy a 2-hour train ride and luncheon around Lake Winnipesauke. Our luncheon will consist of a full hot delicious Roast Turkey Dinner with all of the trimmings! Mashed Potatoes, vegetable of the day, scrumptious dressing, divine gravy, rolls and butter, cranberry sauce, beverage and dessert of the day! Wow, can’t go wrong with that!! Then we will travel to Squam Lake Science Center for a visit before taking a cruise (weather permitting) or a exciting animal science presentation with live animals). Last year’s group loved seeing and learning about the unique animals presented. Affectionately known as “On Golden Pond”, after the classic Fonda-Hepburn motion picture filmed here in the early 1980’s, this lake is truly one of the most picturesque, pristine and unspoiled lakes you’ll find.
