Day 1: Saturday, Jan. 19 – Welcome Aboard! We’ll depart our pick up locations for a nice ride across the states to our first en route hotel for the evening. Lunch and Dinner en route.
Day 2: Sunday, Jan. 20 – Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing for Nashville, TN. We will have lunch en route. After, we will stop at Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center for Delta Flatboat Tour. Step aboard and gently wind our way through a lush four and a half acre indoor garden while a guide offers unique facts about the Delta’s plants and fish. We’ll be amazed by breathtaking beauty of the plants as we float around the indoor river. We’ll also see and learn about the hotel’s Delta Island that features an 85-foot fountain, three waterfalls, and numerous shops and restaurants. If we’re lucky, we may catch a glimpse of Danny, an 80 pound catfish, in the Delta River. Then we’re off to our next en route hotel with Dinner along the way.
Day 3: Monday, Jan. 21 – Enjoy breakfast at hotel before leaving for Ocala, FL. First, a guided tour through the Crime & Punishment Museum. The original Jail, often referred to as Castle Turner because of its Romanesque architecture and Courthouse was built in 1906 for a total cost of $60,000. The Jail housed its prisoners upstairs and the downstairs served as the living quarters for the sheriff and his family until 1993. The Jail has seen anywhere from the pettiest offender to those on death row. At least one documented hanging took place in the jail in 1914. Miles Cribb was hung for the murder of his mother-in-law. The original hanging room, trap door and collar Cribb wore is on display in the in the Jail as well as other fascinating pieces of Crime and Punishment history. Then we’ll journey onto our hotel. We’ll enjoy lunch and dinner en route. (Meals on own)
Day 4: Tuesday, Jan. 22 – Let’s have breakfast and then depart for our Islamorada, FL. Hotel. We will first stop at the Everglades Alligator Farm with Airboat ride, Alligator Shows, Alligator Feeding and Photo Opportunities with a baby gator! After, we’ll proceed on to dinner (Included) and then our beautiful resort OCEANFRONT hotel, Amara Cay Resort! Whether you’re sipping their signature prickly pear mojito at Sparrows Rum Bar or reading on their private balcony, we’ll feel inspired to craft our very own personal adventure.
Day 5: Wednesday, Jan. 23 – After breakfast at hotel, we’ll depart for the Theater of the Sea, Marine Mammal Park. We will enjoy shows as Guided Marine Life, Parrot, Dolphin, and Sea Lion plus an open-bottom boat if available. Lunch will be included plus time for shopping. Then off to visit the Rainbarrel Artisan Village where we’ll stroll through their tropical gardens and see the best in contemporary art and American crafts. Discover that one-of-a-kind creation that makes shopping a fun experience. Watch the artists create your masterpiece! Then we will visit the Key Lime Products Store, a treasure trove of unique key lime products and more. For the past 18 years, Key Lime Products has been offering Key Lime body, products, tasty Key Lime flavored edibles like candy and cookies, and some interesting new sauces and marinades that chefs – pro and amateur – will love. Their outdoor display features patio furniture, vases and colorful Haitian steel art and much more. Next, we’re off to a Key Largo Princess Glass Bottom Boat Tour, Key Largo. Enjoy a 2-hr exotic cruise through the coral reefs on the Key Largo Princess. Experience the underwater world of John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park and the Key Largo National Marine Sanctuary. Once we reach the reef you will be able to observe the coral reef through our large viewing windows, which are large enough for everyone to observe the reef at the same time and are located along the center of the boat and installed flat so there is no distortion other than what nature creates. Everything you see on our tour is or was alive and the reef itself is built off of many varieties of living coral and teems with an assortment of sea life. Will point out all kinds of sea creatures which may include sea fans, sea plumes and hundreds of fish ranging from small tropical to larger species sought after by local fishermen. Occasionally we’ll even spot some of the ship wreckage that has been left behind by those who were most likely defeated by King Neptune over the years. Then depart for Dinner (Included) and our resort.
Day 6: Thursday, Jan. 24 – Enjoy a very nice breakfast at our hotel and a FREE day on our own. Enjoy the TIKI BAR, PRIVATE BEACH with hammocks, thatched huts and pier, POOL, KAYAKING and PADDLE BOARDING PLUS elevated sunning beach protected with private seaside dock! Or take the free resort shuttle around the area exploring. Lunch and Dinner on own.
Day 7: Friday, Jan. 25 – After a yummy Breakfast at our hotel, we will depart for Key West for the day! Once we arrive in Key West, we will take a 1-hr Conch Train ride seeing Key West and getting lay of land. After, everyone is on their own to explore and have FREE time in the heart of Key West-The Conch Republic. Experience the charm and beauty of Key West as you explore Duval Street and Mallory Square. Lunch on own. Then we will all meet and take the Key West Dinner Sunset Cruise. Join the party to unwind. Come aboard a 2-story yacht for a fantastic dinner cruise at sunset. Enjoy a freshly prepared buffet dinner, an open, unlimited bar or your favorite beverage and the best views of the beautiful world-famous Key West Sunset. Menu: Key West Tropical Dinner Buffet and Open Unlimited Bar. “Taste of the Tropics” House Specialty Cuban Pork Roast served every night: Caribbean Cuban Roast in Mojo, Local Catch served with Lemon or Tartar sauce, Grilled Chicken Breast with a Pineapple & Soy Sauce Marinate, Sweet Plantains Deep Fried Key West Style, Black Beans and White Rice, Tri – Colored Pasta, Southern Fried Chicken or Chicken Fingers, Mashed Potatoes, Fresh Seasonal Vegetables, Locally baked Cuban Bread and Butter, Unlimited Margaritas, Rum Runners, Well Mixed Drinks, Draft Beer, Wine, Champagne & Soft Drinks. (Included). Now how can you pass this up!! After, we’ll head back to our resort.
Day 8: Saturday, Jan. 26 – After another great Breakfast, we’ll depart for Homestead, FL to “Robert is Here”, Come and meet the namesake of Robert Is Here–the grown-up version of the young boy who started this roadside fruit stand at only six years old. The fresh produce stand has grown with the man, from just selling cucumbers to a one-stop shop for all your fruit and veggie needs. You’ll find the typical flavors of oranges and mangoes complemented by exotic tropical fruits you’ve probably never heard of, such as canistel and jackfruit. Be sure to try a fresh fruit milkshake (a favorite is key lime) or take home some jam and preserves. After, we’ll continue on to our en route hotel. Lunch and dinner on own during drive.
Day 9: Sunday, Jan. 27 – We will enjoy a nice Breakfast at our hotel before departing for Kimball, TN. We will stop for lunch (on own) along the way then for a visit to the Moon Pie General Store, Chattanooga, TN. You know Moon Pies are delicious. You know they’re the perfect combination of marshmallow, graham and chocolate. But do you know how they came to be? It’s an outta-this-world story, so grab yourself a Moon Pie while we have watch a video at the general store and then free time for shopping. Then to dinner and our hotel.
Day 10: Monday, Jan. 28 – Enjoy a nice breakfast at hotel before departing for our Illinois hotel. We will stop in Nashville for FREE time on Honky Tonk Row with Lunch (on own) and a short visit to the Goo Goo Shop and Dessert Bar located across the street from the Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline Museum. After, Dinner en route to hotel.
Day 11: Tuesday, Jan. 29 – Enjoy our last breakfast together before we arrive home with many pictures, memories and new great friends! Welcome home!
