This morning we will enjoy breakfast at the hotel before heading to the Creation Museum. The history of the Bible vividly comes to life at the world-class Creation Museum. As you enter the Time Tunnel, you’ll be transported back 6,000 years to the dawn of time as you begin your walk through biblical history. You’ll encounter a realistic Garden of Eden, animatronic Noah, Flood dioramas, and stunning video displays throughout your journey. Other exhibits include a fascinating insectarium, sculpted dinosaurs of all kinds in the Dino Den, a full-size Allosaurus skeleton, and much more. Receive a meal voucher (Pre-Paid) for lunch. Plenty of time to see everything this museum has to offer. Then we depart for dinner (Pre-Paid) before traveling to our Florence, KY hotel for the evening.
Wednesday, August 14
Enjoy breakfast at our hotel before spending the day at The Ark Encounter. Ark Encounter is three exhibits in one—the massive Ark structure itself, the incredible craftsmanship, and the beautifully fabricated teaching exhibits. The combination of all three will amaze and inspire you to think differently about the biblical account of Noah’s Ark. Featuring a full-size Noah’s Ark, built according to the dimensions given in the Bible. Nasa could lay three shuttles, nose-to-tail on the Ark’s roof! Spanning 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high, this modern engineering marvel. We’ll tour three decks filled with scores of world-class exhibit bays. These stunning exhibits allow you to experience what Noah’s life may have been like. Then we will depart for our Lexington, KY hotel for a two-night stay. After relaxing and freshening up, we’ll depart for a nice Dinner (Pre-Paid) then return to hotel.
Thursday, August 15
Let’s have breakfast and then depart for the Kentucky Artisan Center in Berea, KY. The Kentucky Artisan Center celebrates Kentucky’s artisans through sales, exhibits and displays, events, demonstrations and information about Berea and other Kentucky destinations. The Kentucky Artisan Center is a great place to experience Kentucky hospitality and see the array of Kentucky’s creative works and products. After, we’ll depart for Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. It is a landmark destination that shares 3,000 acres of discovery in the spirit of the Kentucky Shakers. Home to the third largest Shaker community in the United States between 1805 and 1910, the vibrant site offers experiences designed to ignite curiosity, expand imaginations and inspire generations. Take a guided tour of The Historic Centre to learn all about the Shakers, their daily lives, their work, their values and their worship. Gain insights into their fascinating world by strolling through the many original 19th century structures that line the storied village turnpike. Visit The Farm to learn about sustainable agricultural practices and how we ensure that the resourceful, imaginative spirit of the Shakers remains. Today’s garden provides fresh and organic seasonal produce to The Trustees’ Table—just steps from the garden gate. Free time to browse and Lunch on own. Then we’ll take a ride on the Dixie Belle Riverboat. Enjoy a relaxing ride aboard Shaker Village’s 115-passenger riverboat, through high limestone cliffs and untouched natural beauty. One-hour narrated cruises describe the historical importance of the river to the Shakers and pass under High Bridge, an engineering marvel built in 1877. Then, we’ll enjoy a nice plated Dinner (Pre-Paid) at The Trustees’ Table. After dinner, return to hotel.
Friday, August 16
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before meeting our guide for a Close-up Guided Tour of Kentucky’s World Premier Thoroughbred Horse Farms. We will drive by world famous Calumet Farm with history of what made this farm so famous back in the 1940s and 1950s and up until the present day. Visit the famous Keeneland Race Course and take a walking tour of the lovely ivy covered old buildings. The morning tours get to see morning workouts. Keeneland was the home of the Breeder Cup Champion Races in 2015. Then you will visit a couple of farms where you can get up and personal with the horses. During the tour you will see sights where several motion pictures have been filmed. After touring, we depart for the Buffalo Trace Distillery. Enjoy a guided tour beginning with an engaging video of the history of Buffalo Trace Distillery. Then walk amidst the path of rolling bourbon barrels. You will be captivated by the alluring smell and atmosphere of bourbon sleeping inside the aging warehouses. We will then go inside the renowned Blanton’s Bottling Hall where we will see signature bourbons being filled, sealed, labeled, and packaged—all by hand. After, we depart for our hotel and enjoy dinner (Pre-Paid).
