    Day 2:
    monday, november 29

This morning we will enjoy breakfast at the hotel before traveling to our next destination. First, we’ll visit the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House. A mansion located in Grosse Pointe Shores, northeast of Detroit, Michigan; it stands on the site known as “Gaukler Point”, on the shore of Lake St. Clair. It became the residence of Edsel &  Eleanor Ford family in 1929. Following lunch (Pre-Paid), step back in time to discover the magic of the holidays and hear about the Ford family’s traditions and spectacular parties. The tour begins with a video that provides an historic overview of the Ford family. Knowledgeable guides will lead you on tour of the home to discover its stories and spectacular treasures. Check into our hotel and then enjoy Dinner (Pre-Paid) and the Wild Lights at the Detroit Zoo. The entire Detroit Zoo is illuminated by more than 5 million LED lights. They are on the trees and bushes, along buildings, pathways and more.

    Day 3:
    tuesday, november 30

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Depart for a visit to The Detroit Parade Company. Venture into a magical ParadeLand and experience a behind-the-scenes look at Detroit’s Parade Company. Learn more about the Parade’s fascinating history, explore the 200,000 square-foot storyland of floats and see how award-winning artisans bring them to life. Take a journey through their unique creative kingdom, marvel at the world’s largest collection of papier-mache heads that resemble local icons and famous characters. Lunch (On Own) at Great Lakes Crossing. Great Lakes Crossing Outlets has over 25 stores and restaurants that can’t be found anywhere else in Michigan, including SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium, LEGOLAND Discovery Center, Rainforest Cafe, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, Neiman Marcus Last Call Clearance Center, Calvin Klein Company Store, Coach Factory, Michael Kors Oulet and Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store. Then free time to browse Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland. Nowhere is Christmas displayed with such exuberance. Christmas Lane, Bronner’s own thoroughfare is 1/2 mile long and is illuminated with over 100,000 Christmas Lights. Bronner’s CHRISTmas Land. When Wally Bronner painted his first sign over 50 years ago, little did he dream that his small business would one day become the world’s largest Christmas store. It is a shopper’s dream! The overall size of Bronner’s building is 320,000 sq. ft (approx. 7.35 acres or 5.5 football fields of space) with 96,000 sq. ft. (2.2 acres 1.7 football fields of space) devoted to the salesroom. It features over 50,000 trims, gifts, and collectibles. Of the more than 6000 styles of ornaments which Bronner’s carries, half of the glass ornaments are Bronner’s exclusive designs. Inside and out, Christmas lights abound. Bronner’s electric bill averages $1,250 per day. Depart for our hotel. Check-in and then depart for Dinner (Pre-Paid) at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant. Following Dinner, we will enjoy a mini-Tour of Frankenmuth and experience their fantastic light display including 1000,000 lights that illuminate Bronner’s half-mile long Christmas Lane.

    Day 4:
    wednesday, december 1

Let’s enjoy breakfast, then depart for the Board & Brush Creative Studio. Learn about the beauty of raw materials – the wood, the knots, the color variations and the simple imperfections that will make your project unique. Distressing, sanding with the grain, and staining are a few of the important steps that will guide you through to make your personalized wood sign look as though it has been with you for years – like a vintage heirloom. After, depart for Lunch (On Own) before going to the Fairview Organic Maple Sugar Farm. Take a short stroll through the Sugar Bush and see the original Sugar Shack built in the early 1900’s by the Amish family that settled the land. See the carvings on the trees by young lovers who joined in the yearly festivities associated with maple sugaring. Learn about the modern techniques Tim and Judy Boonstra use to tap over 2,500 Maple Trees with tubing and vacuum. Then sample one of Judy’s Maple Sugar Cookies. Continue to Thunder Bay Resort. This family run resort offers the beauty of Northern Michigan and a friendly staff, for a matchless Up North experience. This evening step back in time as we board a horse drawn sleigh (or carriage depending on mother nature) that takes us over the Thunder Bay River and into the woods at Thunder Bay Resort. Enjoy the scenery, view the majestic elk, take in the smell of pine as the horses make their way deep in the woods to beautiful Elk Antler Log Cabin. Warm yourself by the fire and savor the delicious aromas put forth by the twin antique wood cook stoves as culinary artist Spencer James and his staff prepare our gourmet meal (Pre-Paid). Throughout the meal, enjoy tasting wines from nearby wineries.

    Day 5:
    thursday, december 2

We will enjoy breakfast at hotel before departing for Castle Farms. Transformed for Christmas into a train wonderland. Enjoy an extravaganza of model and interactive train displays, including the ever-popular Polar Express. Giant Nutcrackers welcome guests into the Castle decorated with Christmas cheer. Lights and multitudes of themed trees adorn the halls. Enthusiastic guides will explore the 100-year-old historic property with you. Enjoy Lunch (Pre-Paid) at Castle Farms. Now, we’ll travel to our hotel to check-in. Then depart for Dinner (Pre-Paid) at Pietro’s Italian Restaurant.

    Day 6:
    friday, december 3

Let’s enjoy breakfast before we depart for Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. Join in the excitement of Christmas at Meijer Gardens as they bring the glow of over 300,000 colorful lights, and over 40 international trees and displays. The companion Railway Garden exhibit is a unique horticultural display that incorporates garden design, miniature buildings handmade from natural materials and model trolleys and G-scale trains. Then Lunch (On Own) in Downtown Market Grand Rapids. After, we’ll travel to the Silver Beach Carousel. The horses, the tigers, the hippocampus, the panda, the clown fish – in all, 48 unique carousel figurines and two chariots – are whirling with excitement to see you. Come pick your favourite and ride beneath 1000 twinkling lights as the band organ’s music happily soars and dips with the gears. Each figurine is beautifully hand-carved and hand-painted by the artisans at The Carousel Works. Around the top of the carousel, you can learn about local history – told as no one else in the world has told it on a carousel – using historic photographs. As you gaze at those 18 rounding boards, you will become part of their story. Then we’re on the road toward Dinner & Wine Tasting @ Poppin Plates LLC & Vintrendi Wine Company. Enjoy a Cooking demonstration of a Christmas dessert and Wine Tasting. Following the demo and wine tasting, we will enjoy a family-style Christmas dinner. (Pre-Paid).
