Day 1:
sunday, august 6

Welcome All! Depart our various pick-up locations for a wonderful ride to Duluth, MN.  Water and snacks provided on coach. As we are heading north to Duluth, we will stop in Stillwater, MN for Lunch (On Own) along the beautiful St. Croix River. Then we will continue on where we will check into our hotel near the waterfront. Time to freshen up and relax prior to dinner. This evening, we will enjoy Dinner (Pre-Paid) as we get to know each other. Then time to relax for rest of evening or explore the area.

Day 2:
monday, august 7

Enjoy a hot Breakfast before departing for a fun-filled day! This morning, our Guide will join us as we enjoy a Guided City Tour of Duluth and hear the tales of the city. Our tour will include a visit to the Glensheen Mansion where we immerse ourselves in authenticity and a rare glimpse of life in early 1900’s.  Glensheen Mansion is perched on the shore of Lake Superior, is the most visited historic home in Minnesota. We will explore the 12-acre estate features gardens, bridges, and the famous 39-room mansion built with remarkable 20th-century craftsmanship, telling the story of the Duluth region.  This afternoon we have Free Time to explore Canal Park and find Lunch (On Own). It also has plenty of shops and scenic views to enjoy. Tonight, we will take a enjoy a beautiful Sunset Dinner Cruise (Pre-Paid). There is nothing quite like an evening on Lake Superior. The relaxing dinner cruise features dinner from local restaurant Bellisio’s and narrated highlights of the harbor. Take in never-ending views of Duluth’s unique skyline and harbor activity!

Day 3:
tuesday, august 8

Let us enjoy Breakfast at our hotel before departing for the day. Today we explore nature and the amazing North Shores with magnificent views as we drive north towards Two Harbors.  We get off to see Gooseberry Falls and have Lunch (Pre-Paid) together. Gooseberry Falls is the gateway to the North Shore. It is known for its spectacular waterfalls, river gorge, Lake Superior shoreline, Civilian Conservation Corps log and stone structures, and north woods wildlife. Listen to the thunderous roar of the Upper, Middle and Lower Falls of the Gooseberry River as it plummets through a rocky gorge. Watch for waves, ships, or the moon rise on Lake Superior from an ancient lava flow known as the Picnic Flow. Then we continue to Split Rock Lighthouse. After a November gale wrecked nearly 30 ships in 1905, the president of a steamship company led a delegation urging the U.S. Lighthouse Service to construct this rugged landmark. Split Rock Light Station was completed in 1910, and for half a century it oversaw the safe passage of freighters carrying freshly mined ore from Minnesota’s Iron Range. As we travel today, we will see some of the most magnificent views of the shoreline and Lake Superior.  This afternoon we will visit a local distillery. Dinner will be (On Own) this evening with many restaurants in the area to choose from.  

Day 4:
wednesday, august 9

After enjoying a nice Breakfast at or hotel, we will depart for the day for touring. This morning, we will visit the Hawk Ridge Nature Reserve/Bird Observatory, a ridge located above Duluth, is a perfect spot for watching thousands of birds such as eagles, hawks, and falcons.  Then we will visit the Superior Railroad Museum. Housed in the Historic Duluth Union Depot, the Lake Superior Railroad Museum houses the finest collection of Railroad Equipment in the country, with interactive exhibits as well as history from the region, the Lake Superior Railroad Museum is a must-visit attraction in Duluth. In the summer and fall months the museum’s North Shore Scenic Railroad offers train excursions, together the two organizations offer the richest historic experiences in railroading anywhere. Begun as a local project in 1973, the museum has rapidly grown into one of the largest and most respected railway museums in the country. It is housed within Duluth’s restored Union Depot complex, with most of its major exhibit space enclosed for all-weather viewing. The museum focuses on railroading in the Lake Superior region, which is reflected in the collection. In the early afternoon we depart for Bayfield, WI where we will board our Apostle Islands Evening Grand Tour. The Grand Tour takes us on a narrated, information 55-mile scenic cruise. Highlights include passing extraordinary natural scenery, beautiful historic Raspberry, and Devils Island Lighthouses, standing rocks, extensive sea caves and marine wildlife. Then we’ll return to our hotel to freshen up and relax prior to dinner. This evening, we will enjoy our last evening out with Dinner (Pre-Paid).

Day 5:
thursday, august 10

This morning, we will pack for departure and enjoy a lovely breakfast at our hotel before departing for home. En route, we will stop for Lunch (On Own) and continue home with TONS of memories, pictures, and new friends!! We hope you had a wonderful trip! Tell all your friends!
