SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 15
Welcome Aboard! We’ll depart our pick up locations for a nice enjoyable ride to Appleton, Wisconsin. Home of one of the Fox Cities! Water and snacks provided on coach. We’ll have Lunch en route prior to stopping for a visit and tour of an Alpaca Farm, nestled in a 211 acre family dairy farm built in 1887. The original barn and farmstead still exist, however the Holstein cows are now gone and today the landscape is peppered with a multi-colored alpaca herd. Farming has been in their family for well over 125 years. Today, they have a thriving farm with over 50 Huacaya alpacas. After, we’ll depart for our nice sit-down dinner (Pre-Paid) before continuing to our hotel for a 2-night stay. Luggage will be delivered to your rooms. There, we can relax for the evening to be ready for our second day of adventure! Enjoy the indoor pool or hot tub or get a good nights rest.
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16
Good Morning! Please enjoy a nice Deluxe Continental breakfast prior to leaving for a very fun-filled packed day! Our first stop is to pick up our guide and enjoy a very nice Guided Tour of Appleton, otherwise known as the Crescent City! We will tour and explore up to 20 sites and get historical background on some of the notable people, places and events that shaped Appleton today! Learn why the Fox Valley is known as the Paper Valley, and see where Appleton celebrities, such as Harry Houdini, Edna Ferber, and Joseph McCarthy, called home. After, we’ll depart for De Pere, WI to enjoy a nice Lunch Cruise. A laid-back tour, with heavy narration focused on the history, environment, area geology, or a combination – hopefully close to reality, or at least made to sound so. Leaving from their port in De Pere. Nice scenery to include wooded banks and nice homes & includes the closest thing we have to a castle in these parts! And passage thru a hand-operated historic lock in De Pere. Then, we’re off to the Meuer Farm. They have 150 acres here on their farm, so for that reason they do hayride tours. They make 6 stops along the way for our group to see and hear about different areas of interest here on their farm such as walnut trees, bee hives, grazing cow/calf herd etc. They have a country store on their farm where all of the things they grow are available for sale. We will have a presentation on maple syrup making that involves a tasting of it as well. After, we will have Dinner (Pre-Paid) there before departing for our hotel.
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17
Enjoy our Deluxe Continental breakfast together at the hotel before we depart for home. First, with a visit and self-guided tour of History Museum at the Castle. Affectionately known as the History Museum at the Castle, due to their location in a former Masonic Temple, the organization is a thriving cultural institution with deep ties to the local community. At the History Museum, they inspire people of all ages to discover and appreciate the rich history of Appleton and the Fox Valley. The History Museum spans three floors and features award winning exhibitions, one-of-a-kind interactives, and a boutique-style gift shop. Experience some of Harry Houdini’s famous tricks through hands-on activities. It is great fun for the whole family! See why the world renowned magician called Appleton his hometown. After, we’ll make one last stop at Simon’s Specialty Cheese store. THERE’S NO CHEESE LIKE WISCONSIN CHEESE…THERE’S NO WISCONSIN CHEESE LIKE SIMON’S! Browse their store for specialty cheese, sausage and gourmet foods. Then, we will arrive home with many pictures, memories and new great friends! Welcome home!
