Day 1:
monday, december 6

Welcome All! Depart our various pick up locations for a wonderful ride to Omaha, NE for our Christmas Around the World.  Sit back, relax, talk with friends, family and enjoy the beautiful festive scenery en route. We will arrive early afternoon after lunch in time for a break at the National Park Service and enjoy a Lewis & Clark Presentation. In Omaha, they like to tout the fact that Lewis and Clark slept there. The famous exploring duo helped put Omaha on the map before there were maps. Enjoy a presentation on the incredible journey of Lewis and Clark as they traveled throughout the Omaha area. Then we’ll travel to Historic Old Market District. Enjoy a little holiday shopping! The Old Market District is Omaha’s former warehouse district with brick streets, a variety of Restaurants and unique shops. Explore the three block area including Tannenbaum Christmas Shop and Ashley’s Collectibles. The new Hollywood Candy Shop contains hundreds of memorabilia items from 1950’s to 1970’s era. Discover the candy you grew up with. The candy shop contains thousands of choices from Jelly Belly’s to Moon Pies. The warehouse also contains a small theater and retro malt shop. Then check-in to Hotel: The Peregrine Omaha Downtown, Curio Collection by Hilton. A Curio Collection by Hilton is Hilton’s latest brand and will be a carefully selected, global collection of distinctive four and five star hotels that offer travelers local discovery and authentic experiences in key markets. Depart for our 1st “Country” to explore: Enjoy Holiday Torts at the Lithuanian Bakery & Kafe. Visit Lithuania through the eyes of the owners of Omaha’s Lithuania Bakery. We will hear from the Machevicius family about how their family escaped Germany in WWII and moved to Omaha to start a bakery business. Taste some of the bakery’s famous breads and enjoy their signature dessert which takes three days to make! Then depart to our 2nd “Country” for Dinner: Taste of Ireland at Brazen Head Irish Pub. Experience a taste of Ireland at the Brazen Head Irish Restaurant. Feast on a “boxty”, a traditional Irish luncheon dish (Pre-Paid) while we enjoy a private performance by an Irish folk singer. The minute you walk into the Brazen Head we’ll feel its Irish roots – the interior woodwork was imported from a pub in Ireland. From Galway Bay to Dublin, Irish Folk Singer, Dave Marsh presents various musical styles from the Emerald Isle. Marsh plays 12 instruments including the accordion, penny whistle, Northumbrian pipes and bodhran (Irish drum).

Day 2:
tuesday, december 7

Enjoy a hot Breakfast off the menu before departing Our 3rd “Country” to explore: Christmas in Scotland at the Joslyn Castle. Be transported to Scotland with a visit to the historic 1903 Castle. This 30-room stone mansion resembles a traditional Scottish castle. As we enter the huge front doors, we will be amazed by the craftsmanship of the elaborate wood interior, which comes from all parts of the world. We will enjoy hearing the fascinating story of George & Sarah Joslyn and how the couple shared their extraordinary wealth with the community. After, visit Christmas at Union Station, Durham Museum. Enjoy a Docent-guided tour of the impressive Union Train Station of Omaha, The Durham Museum, with huge holiday tree in the main hall! Ethnic communities decorate small holiday trees to represent their own unique heritage! Travel back to the 1930’s train depot of Omaha, Nebraska. Explore Omaha’s past throughout the museum. It’s easy to imagine the crowds of people and the sound of steam engines as we look over the many rail cars on the Track level. Hmmmm…enjoy some ice cream at the working soda fountain of the 1930’s! Time for Lunch and our 4th “Country” for Lunch: Christmas in Poland. Enjoy a Polish Meal and Entertainment (Pre-Paid) at the Polish Home. Learn about Omaha’s Polish community with a visit to the Polish Home for an authentic Polish meal prepared by the Polish Heritage Society of Nebraska. We will also enjoy a special dance presentation celebrating the culture of Poles in the Nebraska/Iowa area. Onto a visit to a Winter Seasonal and Holiday Teas Presentation. Enjoy a visit to the Tea Smith Shop. Professional tea master will give us a brief overview of the blending and flavoring of teas, variety of holiday teas and unique serving ideas. We are invited to sample a variety of teas plus time to browse their store for any last-minute stocking stuffers or Christmas ideas! And if the day can’t get any better, arrive to our 5th “Country” for Dinner: Christmas in Germany . Come celebrate a German Christmas with enjoying a holiday program of dancing, singing and food! Listen to traditional German holiday favorites by the Men’s Choir. Shop for crafts & items imported from Germany at the Christmas Market! Experience the German dancers as they perform various holiday dances from various regions of Germany. The evening ends with a sing-a-long of the song “Silent Night.”

Day 3:
wednesday, december 8

Enjoy a Full Hot Breakfast off the menu  before departing Our Last and 6th “Country” to explore: Christmas in the Ukraine. Ukrainian “Linens & Traditions” Presentation with Coffee and Pastries. Enjoy a morning presentation with Ukrainian speaker, Olesia Reprichowskyl! Olesia brings various Ukrainian linens and gives an entertaining presentation about the linens connection to Ukrainian history, customs and traditions. Olesia will have you laughing while educating you about life in the Ukraine. Olesia will also talk about her experience as a child slave laborer for the German Army during WWII and also how Christmas is celebrated in Ukraine. Continue home with lunch en route with TONS of memories, pictures, and new friends!! We hope you had a wonderful trip! Tell all your friends!
