Day 2:
wednesday, april 24
Enjoy a YUMMY HOT Breakfast at the hotel before departing for the day for touring around the area. We will be visiting several local Amish shops with time for tours and shopping! So much to do and so many neat places to visit in a day such as Rise N’ Roll Bakery. Big ideas have small beginnings. Rise’n Roll’s history began in 2001 in Shipshewana, Indiana. A young Amish couple began baking recipes handed down in the woman’s family for generations. They sold baked goods from their front porch. Over the years, they worked on perfecting the recipes, until in 2004 they opened the first Rise’n Roll Bakery in Middlebury, Indiana. The original bakery did not use any electricity, refrigeration, or modern technology. All of the mixing, sheeting, and prepping was done entirely by hand. In 2009, the Amish owner sold the company to a non-Amish family. The new owners moved the bakery into a much larger facility. The original Amish owner stayed employed at Rise’n Roll and franchising began. Still doing things the “old fashioned way”, and blessing customers, one at a time. Then Dutch Country Market & Katie’s Homemade Noodles, Teaberry Wood Products. This small family-run business started out as a sawmill and dry kiln operation. This husband/wife team along with their family are full time in the arts and craft business. First, they focused on puzzles and navitity scenes, and started making Monroe Dutcher style baskets. These baskets are unusual in the way that they are designed and fairly sturdy. They are practical in the sense that they are very functional. Their baskets are custom made with cherry, oak, walnut and purple heart. Visit an Amish Buggymaker. Enjoy Lunch (Pre-Paid) in Downtown Shipshewana at Ben’s Pretzel Shop. Enjoy learning how to make your own pretzel and then get to eat! Afterwards, we’re going to visit the Amish Sugar Free Jam Makers and enjoy learning about their processes and enjoy a private tasting. LOL we might even see an Amish phone booth….never know. Visit an Amish Rug Weaver for a weaving demo & Dawdy Haus Tour, Amish grandpa house and how they retire. Then we’re off to Dinner @ Yoder’s Homestyle Cooking. Enjoy an Amish Thresher meal (Pre-Paid) inside an Amish home & Buggy rides in their personal buggies.
Day 3:
thursday, april 25
Enjoy a nice HOT Breakfast at the hotel. Then a Free morning around the hotel OR Free time in Downtown Shipshewana for browsing the shops. Then back to the hotel for a nice Soup and Salad Lunch (Pre-Paid). After, enjoy the Musical Show, Josiah for President (Pre-Paid). When former Congressman Mark Stedman throws in the towel on his presidential campaign, his only choice is to return to his home state and decide how to spend the rest of his life … until he meets Josiah Stoltzfus, an Amish farmer from Pennsylvania. Stedman learns more from Josiah in a few hours than in his many years in office. He comes to the conclusion that someone like Josiah should be running the country. Not a career politician, but someone with a little old-fashioned common sense, someone who’s not afraid of rolling up his sleeves and getting his hands dirty. Someone like Josiah Stoltzfus. Using his old campaign headquarters for a base, Mark Stedman determines to introduce a new candidate to America. Without Josiah’s consent or knowledge, he becomes a write-in candidate for the Presidency. Mark pledges to do everything in his power to make sure Josiah gets elected. But can a plain man of faith turn the tide of politics and become the leader of America, and what will he have to risk to do it? After the musical, we will have time to relax at the hotel or explore the grounds. They have the pool, hot tub, fitness center, ice creamery, outdoor patio, firepit, gathering spaces or arcade. Then, we’re off to enjoy Dinner (Pre-Paid) Buffet-Style prior to our evening entertainment. Enjoy the SHOW – Texas Tenors, The Texas Tenors are the most successful music group and third highest-selling artist in the history of America’s Got Talent! Since appearing on the series in 2009, JC, Marcus, and John have performed over 2000 concerts, recorded 5 studio albums, produced 2 PBS specials, and have written two hit children’s books that have earned them impressive recognition including 3 Emmy awards, the Gelett Burgess award for excellence in children’s literature and the distinction of being billboard magazine’s #10 classical artist in the world. The tenors’ most recent albums “Outside the Lines” “Rise” and “a collection of Broadway and American classics” all debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts. These classically trained, versatile tenors were recently honored to be included among the top 50 acts in the world and the only vocal group from the United States invited to appear on NBC’s America’s Got Talent: The Champions, and are filled with pride to be inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. The Texas Tenors invite you to celebrate a huge Milestone with them… 15 years together!
