Start in Waco, TX for a little Magnolia Market magnificence and some Fixer Upper fun! You’ll see the places Chip & Joanna Gaines have restored and enjoy time for shopping. Then head to San Antonio, a unique American City preserving a culture that is centuries old, celebrating the holidays in a traditional style with little influence from the rest of the world.

Day 1:
Saturday, November 29

Wichita, KS – Welcome Aboard! We’ll depart our pick-up locations for a nice ride across the states to our first en route hotel in Wichita, KS.  Lunch and dinner on own en route. Check-in and time for rest and relaxation. Water and snacks provided on coach.  

Day 2:
Sunday, November 30

Waco, TX – Enjoy Breakfast at the hotel. Our travel continues to Waco, TX where we will enjoy a two night stay at a local hotel. Dinner (Pre-Paid) this evening at a local restaurant. (B,D)

Day 3:
Monday, December 1

Breakfast at Magnolia Table – Fixer Upper Tour – Magnolia Market & The Silos

This morning, enjoy breakfast at Magnolia Table. What began as Chip’s dream to open a restaurant in Waco, has now become the namesake of cookbooks, and now Jo’s cooking show.

Then get ready for the Amazing Fixer Upper Tour. This tour of Waco will feature the restoration story of the city, featuring the homes that have been restored on Fixer-Upper as well as how their community has been transformed to make Waco what it is today. Take in the beauty of Cameron Park, enjoy a yummy local treat and learn the fascinating history of our city. With our trademark warmth, hospitality and FUN, you’ll be inspired as you get to know the heart of Waco and its people.

This afternoon, you will have time to explore Magnolia Market and the Silos owned by Chip & Joanna Gaines, hosts of Fixer Upper. Magnolia Market and its famous landmark silos occupy two city blocks in downtown Waco. Take your time exploring the Market, play games on the lawn, or touring the garden. Magnolia Home, Silos Baking Co., and Shops at the Silos round out the complex. Enjoy lunch on your own. End the day with Dinner (Pre-Paid) at a local restaurant. (B,D)

Day 4:
Tuesday, December 2

 LBJ National Historical Park – LBJ Ranch Driving Tour – San Antonio, TX 

This morning, depart Waco and stop in Johnson City, TX to visit the LBJ National Historical Park Visitors Center & his Boyhood Home. The park protects the birthplace, home, ranch, and final resting place of Lyndon B. Johnson, 36th President of the United States. The Ranch House is also known as the Texas White House. You will also enjoy a driving tour of the LBJ Ranch. End the day in San Antonio, TX where you enjoy a four-night stay at a local hotel. Dinner is on your own this evening. (B)

Day 5:
Wednesday, December 3

Full Day Guided San Antonio Tour – IMAX “The Price of Freedom” – The Alamo – Market Square – Riverwalk Dinner Cruise 

This morning, meet your local guide who will spend the day with your group pointing out local history and accompany you to the attractions that you visit including the Spanish missions. Start with a timely introduction to San Antonio’s history, you will view the IMAX movie “The Price of Freedom”. The heroism of the 189 Texans and settlers who defended the besieged Alamo fort for 13 days against the Mexican army of General Santa Anna. After viewing “The Price of Freedom”, visit the Historic Alamo for an audio tour, the sight of the famous losing battle that helped secure Texas’ independence from Mexico. Also included, today is free time to visit Market Square. Explore over 100 locally owned shops and stalls, all at a festive indoor mall famously described as the largest Mexican market outside Mexico. Find authentic Talavera pottery, exotic curios and handcrafted works of art. Stay for the gourmet Mexican cuisine at Mi Tierra and La Margarita, or kick back at the Farmers Market Food Court and enjoy the show on the stage. Tonight, enjoy a (Pre-Paid) Dinner Cruise on the Riverwalk. The Riverwalk is especially beautiful at this time of the year with Holiday lights and luminaries. It’s an enchanted kind of evening. Day 6:
Thursday, December 4

Guided Austin Tour – LBJ Presidential Library – Bullock Texas State History Museum – Cookie Decorating Class

This morning, travel to Austin, TX where you will meet your local guide for a Day of Touring, who will travel with you and share the history, stories and folklore of the area. Tour the LBJ Presidential Library, which houses 45 million pages of historical documents which include papers from the entire public career of Lyndon Baines Johnson and those of his close associates. President Johnson insisted that the library that bears his name tell future generations the story of this rich period of history “with the bark off.”

Following time for lunch on own, visit the Bullock Texas State History Museum with three floors of exhibitions, an IMAX Theatre with laser projection and a 62-foot-tall screen, the multisensory Texas Spirit Theater, The Star Cafe and Museum Store. The Museum collaborates with more than 700 museums, libraries, archives, organizations and individuals across the world to present dynamic, award-winning exhibitions that illuminate Texas history, people and culture. Educational programming for all ages brings the Story of Texas to life.

Also included today is a Cookie Decorating Class at a local mill in Dripping Springs, TX. This hands-on class will teach you how to make perfect Christmas cookies while mastering the art of creating delicious cookies. Dinner is on your own this evening in Dripping Springs before returning to San Antonio for the evening. (B)

Day 7:
Friday, December 5

La Villita Historic Arts Village – Texas Ranger Museum – Dinner at Buckhorn Saloon

Today, visit La Villita Historic Arts Village, home to many stores including art galleries, craft shops, jewelry shops, and clothing stores. Shop, browse, and have lunch on your own before departing back to the hotel to freshen up for dinner.

Then visit the Texas Ranger Museum which honors the incredible history of the world’s most famous law enforcement agency and the Buckhorn Museum which features wildlife from all over the world, including fish from the seven seas, animals from every continent and strange animal oddities which have been collected for over 100 years.

Dinner (Pre-Paid) tonight at the Buckhorn Saloon where it all began—where history was made, and legend lives. It is where Teddy Roosevelt recruited Rough Riders and Pancho Villa is rumored to have planned the Mexican Revolution. Many of the original furnishings still grace today’s Buckhorn Saloon, including the back-bar which was hand-crafted of marble and cherry wood. (B, D)

Day 8:
Saturday, December 6

After having a leisurely Breakfast at our hotel, we’ll depart for Oklahoma City, OK for the evening. Lunch and Dinner on your own en route. (B) 

Day 9:
Sunday, December 7

After having a nice Breakfast at our hotel, we’ll depart for Overland Park, KS for the evening. Lunch en route and Dinner and Drinks (no charge) this evening at the Hotel (Drury Inn & Suites) (B, D)

Day 10:
Monday, December 8

Today, after enjoying a nice Full Hot Breakfast, we will depart for home…a perfect time to chat with your friends about all of the things we’ve done, the great sights we’ve seen, and where we will go on our next trip! (B)
